Configuring Lifecycle Query Engine to connect to Rational Asset Manager

You configure the integration by creating an OAuth consumer in IBM® Rational® Asset Manager, and then adding the information source in Lifecycle Query Engine.

Before you begin

You must be a repository administrator to add connections to Lifecycle Query Engine.

Procedure

  1. Create an OAuth consumer key to use with the server running Lifecycle Query Engine. To learn how to create an OAuth consumer key, see Generating OAuth consumer keys.
    When you create an OAuth consumer key, click Use Repository Process in the Functional user ID field.
  2. Log on to Lifecycle Query Engine.
  3. Add a source of tracked resource set information.
    1. Provide the root services URI for the IBM Rational Asset Manager server to Lifecycle Query Engine.
      The URI is http://host_name:port/Rational_Asset_Manager_context_root/rootservices. For example: http://example.com:9080/ram/rootservices. This URI provides the location of the Tracked Resource Set services in IBM Rational Asset Manager to the consuming application.
    2. Specify the consumer key and the secret that you used when you created the OAuth consumer key in IBM Rational Asset Manager.

    Lifecycle Query Engine can now communicate with IBM Rational Asset Manager. By default, Lifecycle Query Engine connects with a tracked resource set every 60 seconds. You can adjust this default setting in Lifecycle Query Engine.
