Sending an email about an asset from IBM Rational Asset Manager

You can send an email from IBM® Rational® Asset Manager to a list of users who might be interested in an asset.

Before you begin

To send an email to users, you must have the appropriate permissions to view the general details of that asset.

Log in to the IBM Rational Asset Manager web client.
Find the asset. To find an asset, use the My Dashboard page, asset subscriptions, the sidebars on the Home page, or any combination of keywords, filters, or tags on the Assets page.
Click the name of the asset.
The General Details page opens.
Click the Email icon .
In the Email Asset window, add the list of users to receive the email in the To field.
Optional: Edit the Subject from the default name of the asset.
Enter a Message.
Optional: Select the Send a copy to me checkbox to send the message to your email address.
Click Send.

You can send an email to all subscribers of an asset.

To send an email to all subscribers of an asset, you must have the appropriate permissions to view the general details of that asset.

Find the asset. To find an asset, use the My Dashboard page, asset subscriptions, the sidebars on the Home page, or any combination of keywords, filters, or tags on the Assets page.
Click the name of the asset.
The General Details page opens.
To open the Email Subscribers window, you can do one of the following:
- In the Subscribers section, click the Email Subscribers icon .
- In the General Details sidebar, click Reports > Subscribers > Send Email.
The Email Subscribers window opens.
Optional: Edit the list of users to receive the email in the To field and edit the Subject from the default name of the asset.
Enter a Message.
Optional: Select the Send a copy to me checkbox to send the message to your email address.
Click Send.

You can send an email to all users who have downloaded either the entire asset or artifacts attached to the asset.

To send an email to all users of an asset, you must have the appropriate permissions to view the general details of that asset.

Find the asset. To find an asset, use the My Dashboard page, asset subscriptions, the sidebars on the Home page, or any combination of keywords, filters, or tags on the Assets page.
Click the name of the asset.
The General Details page opens.
In the General Details sidebar, click Reports > Asset Usage.
Scroll down to the Asset Users section.
This section lists all users who have downloaded the asset or the asset artifacts.
Click Send Email.
Optional: In the Email Users window, edit the list of users to receive the email in the To field and edit the Subject from the default name of the asset.
Enter a Message.
Optional: Select the Send a copy to me checkbox to send the message to your email address.
Click Send.
