Downloading help content from the Help download site

You can install the updates to the help plug-in by downloading an archive file

Procedure

  1. On a computer with an internet connection, download the latest help archive from http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/documentation/updatesites/.
  2. Move the archive file to the computer that you designated for the help during server setup.
  3. Extract the archive file.
  4. Log on to the server where the ram.help war file is installed if you have not already done so.
  5. In a web browser, enter the URL with the port number for your application server: http://127.0.0.1:port/help/updater/updatewar.jsp.
    For example: http://127.0.0.1:9080/help/updater/updatewar.jsp.
  6. In the Available Content section, click the plus icon to add an internal site.
  7. Select Local.
  8. Enter a name for the site.
  9. Click the ellipsis (…) to browse to the location of the archive file that you downloaded, and then select the site.xml file.
  10. Click OK.
  11. In the Available Content section, expand IBM® Rational® Asset Manager and then expand the release number.
  12. Select IBM Rational Asset Manager Documentation. If you want translations also, select IBM Rational Asset Manager Documentation – Translations. You cannot install only the translations.
  13. Click Install. Wait until the progress bar is completed and a window indicates that the plug-ins were installed.
    The installation location depends on which application server you are using.
    • WebSphere® Application Server: \profiles\profile\temp\node\server\ramhelp_war\ramhelp.war\eclipse\plugins
    • Apache Tomcat: \JazzTeamServer\server\tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost\ramhelp\eclipse
  14. To update the help content, check the download site for updates at http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/documentation/updatesites/.
  15. Open the IBM Rational Asset Manager web client, click the Help icon, which is represented by a question mark (?), and then click Help Contents to verify that the help content is available.
