Step 6: Install the Enterprise Application Archive file

Installing the enterprise archive (EAR) file is the equivalent of installing an application.

About this task

To install the EAR file on IBM® WebSphere® Application Server server:

Procedure

  1. From the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, expand Applications and select Install New Applications. The Preparing for the application installation page opens.
  2. Select Browse to navigate to the location of your EAR file, and click Next. The Step 1: Select installation options window opens.
  3. Accept the defaults and click Next. The Step 2: Map modules to servers window opens.
  4. Accept the default and click Next. The Step 3: Summary window opens.
  5. Click Finish. A message displays.
  6. Click Save.
  7. From the Applications pane on the left side of the administrative console, click Enterprise Applications. The Enterprise Applications window opens.
  8. Select the EAR file you installed. Click Start.
