Adding columns to a DB2 view or DB2 table

Procedure

To find the impact of adding columns to a DB2® view or DB2 table:

  1. From the home page, click Explore > z/OS assets.
  2. From the Data table, click the number beside DB2 table. The "DB2 table summary" page opens.
  3. Click Advanced search.
  4. To filter this result table to display only tables or only views, select Table or View from the Type drop-down list and click Go.
  5. Use the remaining search fields or page through the result table to locate the DB2 table or view of interest.
  6. Click the check box next to the table or view of interest and click Analyze impact. The "Impact analysis" wizard opens in a separate window.
  7. Follow the instructions on the wizard pages to set options for and start the analysis.
  8. When the analysis has completed, click Finish. The "Impact analysis details" page opens, showing assets that are impacted by a change to the table or view.
