Unauthorized invalid license error

Symptoms

The Unauthorized Invalid License error message appears when the following conditions are met: you click Verify API Key and Password on the API Settings tab, and the License and Expiration Date fields both show N/A.

Causes

The error message indicates that your IBM account is not associated with an X-Force Threat Intelligence feed license.

Resolving the problem

  1. Log in to your My IBM Dashboard (myibm.ibm.com/dashboard) with an active IBM account and begin a 30-day trial for IBM QRadar® Threat Intelligence.
    Important: If your license is valid and unexpired, but you still receive the message, contact your IBM Sales Rep or Account Manager to request for a new license.
  2. Log in to the IBM X-Force Exchange portal (https://exchange.xforce.ibmcloud.com/) to generate an API key and password, and use the information to update the API Settings in QRadar Threat Intelligence.
  3. You might need to restart QRadar to refresh the connection for the feed to connect and start pulling data. For more information about restating a QRadar application, see Basic app troubleshooting before opening a QRadar support ticket.
