Testing a destination

You can test the WinCollect 10 agent's connection to a destination by using the Test Connection button.

About this task

HTTP(s) test connections will only properly work if the endpoint supports the OPTIONS method.

Procedure

  1. From the Agent Configuration menu, select Destinations.
  2. In the Destinations section, either click an existing destination to test or click Add to create a new one.
  3. Update any parameters that you want to add or change, then click Test Connection.
    Tip: You do not need to save the destination before you test it.
    A message displays whether the connection was successful and any errors that occurred.
  4. Click Save.
    Note: Destinations that use the UDP protocol connect with the TCP protocol for this test. Testing a connection by using the TCP protocol does not report TLS-related errors.
