You can add a secondary destination to receive events from your WinCollect agents if the primary destination fails.
Before you begin
To set up a secondary destination, you must create one destination (or use an existing one)
to act as the primary destination and another destination to act as the secondary destination. The
primary and secondary destinations do not need to use the same protocols. To create new
destinations, follow the steps for Adding a
destination.
Procedure
-
In the WinCollect 10 Console, click the
menu icon and select Destinations.
The default installation
of WinCollect 10 contains a destination that is
named QRadar. You can use this destination or add a new
destination.
- Select the destination that you want to designate as the primary
destination.
- On the Destination Properties window, configure the following
options:
Option |
Description |
Secondary Destination |
Select an existing destination to act as the secondary destination. If the agent can't
connect to the primary destination, the agent fails over to this secondary destination. |
Failover timeout (seconds) |
The amount of time the agent waits before failing over to the Secondary
Destination. The default is 1800 seconds (30 minutes). After the agent fails over to the
secondary device, it checks every 5 minutes for a connection to the primary device. |
- Click Save.
- Deploy your changes.
