Configuration options for the WinCollect agent
You can configure the installed WinCollect agent by changing default settings, including server settings that control where status messages, warning messages, and statistics are sent.
The following figure shows the first section that you can configure.

Legend
1 The Name field of the agent is typically the same as the Identifier field.
2 The Description field is useful for identifying the agent.
3 The Identifier field is automatically generated when you install the agent. This value is usually the hostname value from the environment settings.

| Max Payload | The maximum payload size, in bytes, to send to the status server. |
| Heartbeat | How often, in seconds, heartbeat messages are sent to the status server. |
| Send Statistics | How often, in minutes, statistics messages are sent to the status server. |

The destination type of the status server is configured. You can choose either Network Destination or Kafka Destination. For more information about network or Kafka parameter configuration, see Adding a destination. |
