Configuring the SmartNIC

Use the SMARTNIC SETUP widget to configure SmartNIC port settings, packet processing, and prefilters.

Port Settings

If a transceiver module is installed in a port, it is enabled by default. You can manually disable the module in the SMARTNIC SETUP widget. By default, each port auto-detects the link speed of the transceiver module. However, if you are using dual rate modules you can manually set the speed using the radio buttons.

The following table describes the function configuration for each port. If you choose to name a port, this name is reflected in other parts of the user interface where the port number is referenced.
Table 1. Configuring the function for port settings
Port function setting Description
Capture Default setting. Packets are captured.
Disabled Packet capture is turned off, and no packets are captured.
Local retransmit Packets are transmitted to another local port. Choose the port where you want the packets to be retransmitted.
Retransmit ETS An ETS (Encapsulated Time Stamp) is appended to every packet, and all packets are retransmitted to another local port. See Setting up local retransmission for more information.
Figure 1. Accelerator Setup
The SmartNIC Setup window shows the model number of the SmartNIC, and fields for Port, Label, Function, Source, Status and Link Speed. There is a field to specify prefilter text that is then applied to the captured traffic. There are two fields to specify the slicing offset and a check box to enable slicing. Two buttons are at the bottom of the window to Apply and Reset the current settings.
