WinCollect Sources
A source is any log file or event channel on a Windows-based host that you configure WinCollect 10 to collect events from. Sources can be either local or remote.
Local sources are sources that are collected from the Windows-based host that WinCollect is installed on. Remote sources use Windows credentials to log in to remote Windows-based hosts to collect events. Because remote sources require extra network communication overhead, local sources are recommended for any critical endpoints or endpoints with known high events per second.
