Inserting a Google Map Object to display query results

You can use the Google Map Object to display query results as a geographic map object.

Before you begin

The Google Map Object properties are defined in the User's reference section of the QMF help.

About this task

To display query results as a geographic map object:

Procedure

  1. When you insert the Google Map object, select Create a map with a component, and then select the Object option on the Define map content page of the Google Map Wizard. Then click Next.
  2. In the All Data Sources tree, select a table or query which results you want to use to define the object on the map.
  3. From the Tooltip field list, select a column to supply the text of a tooltip for the object.
  4. From the Bounds field list, select a column to supply the boundaries of the object on the map.
  5. From the Content field list, select a column with the content that you want to display on the map, for example an image.
  6. Click Finish to close the Google Map Wizard and display the Google Map object with the object that you added to it in the editor.
    Tip: To add any other objects to the Google Map object that you created, add a new Data Template to it, and then drag the required object from the Map pallet to the Data Template in the Project Explorer view.
