Inserting a Google Map Marker object

You can use the Google Map Marker object to add markers to the Google Map object by specifying the coordinates of the markers.

The Google Map Marker object properties are defined in the User's reference section of the QMF help.

About this task

The Google Map Markers objects are interactive points on a map.

To add markers to the Google Map object:

Procedure

  1. When you insert the Google Map object, select Create a map with a component, and then select the Marker option on the Define map content page of the Google Map Wizard. Then click Next.
  2. Select No to enter the coordinates of the markers manually and click Next.
  3. Define the markers on the Define the properties for the markers page.
    • In the Caption column, enter the name that you want to use for a marker.
    • In the Tooltip column, you can specify the text of a tooltip for a marker.
    • In the Latitude column, specify the latitude coordinate.
    • In the Longitude column, specify the longitude coordinate.
  4. When you finish specifying the information for the markers, click Finish to close the Google Map Wizard and display the Google Map object with the markers that you added to it in the editor.
    Tip: To add any other objects to the Google Map object that you created, drag them from the Map palette to the Google Map object in the Project Explorer view and specify the object properties.
