Inserting a solid chart

Solid charts display your query results data in a visually rich format, like charts for all query types in QMF. In contrast to other composite charts that are available in visual projects, solid charts are added as the whole object to a scene. Solid charts are fully customizable.

1. Double-click the Solid Chart object in the Layouts palette of the Palette view. The Solid Chart Wizard opens.
2. Select a query for which you want to create a chart and click Next.
3. If the selected query has a saved chart, you can add it to your visual project on the Chart page, and click Finish to close the wizard.
4. To create a chart, on the Chart type page, specify the type of the chart. For more information about chart types, see Specifying chart type options topic. Click Next.
5. On the Data series page, specify the columns of the result set that you want to use to generate data points of a chart. For more information, see Specifying data series options topic. Click Next.
6. On the Format page, specify the options to define the visual output of the chart. For more information, see Specifying format options topic.
7. Click Finish to close the Solid Chart Wizard.
   The created chart is displayed on the scene.
