Registering a QMF catalog

Use the Register QMF Catalog wizard to register QMF Catalogs.

About this task

To register a QMF Catalog, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. In the QMF Catalogs view, click Register QMF Catalog.
  2. In the QMF Catalog Name field, specify the name for the QMF catalog.
  3. In the JDBC Driver field, specify the library for the JDBC driver that will be used to access the database. Select an existing library from that you defined when you set up the JDBC driver information or click the Configure libraries to open the JDBC Libraries dialog, where you can create additional JDBC driver libraries.
  4. In the Host field, specify the address of the server that hosts the QMF catalog that you want to register.
  5. In the Port field, specify the server port that you want to use.
  6. In the Database field, specify the name of the database that stores the QMF catalog that you want to register.
  7. Optional: To manage any driver-specific connections string keywords for the repository, click Advanced.
  8. Optional: To configure a PassTickets-based Single Sign-on connection between QMF and Db2 for z/OS database, click Single Sign-on.
  9. Optional: If you are using the Direct DRDA Connection to connect to the QMF catalog for the first time, you must bind Direct DRDA packages. To do so, complete the following steps:
    1. Click Bind Packages.
    2. In the Owner ID field, enter a privileged SQLID with the necessary rights for the binding process.
    3. Click Install.
  10. In the User name and Password fields, specify the user credentials that are necessary to connect to the database.
  11. Click Next to open the Create or update catalog objects page.
