You manage your repository connections from the Repository
Connections view. From this view you can edit and remove
repository connections and you can connect and disconnect from a repository.
About this task
Each QMF user (with and without
administrator privileges) manages their own repository connections. Repository connection
information is stored in a user's home directory by operating system user ID. Each user can add,
edit, and delete repository connections from their home directory.
To
add, connect to, edit, or delete a repository connection:
Procedure
-
Open the Repository Connections view. From the
Server list, select the QMF Server whose repository connections you want to
display, or select Local to display the repository connections that are
available on your local machine. Local repository connections can be created by users or
supplied to users by the administrator.
If the QMF Server that you have
selected from the Server list has one or more registered QMF Catalogs, they will be
available as a separate connection in the Repository Connections view. If you
establish this connection, you will be able to access QMF Catalog objects from the
Repository Explorer view.
Note: QMF Server-based repository
connections will be available to you only if you have an instance of QMF Registry configured for your QMF client.
- To edit a repository connection's property information,
complete the following steps:
- Right-click the repository connection that you want
to edit and select Edit from the pop-up menu.
The Edit Repository Connection wizard
presents edit dialogs based on the type of connection that you selected.
- From these dialogs make changes to the repository connection
information.
Upon completion, the modified connection
information is saved.
- To remove a repository connection, complete the following
steps:
- Right-click the repository connection that you want
to remove and select Remove connection from
the pop-up menu.
A message asking you to confirm
the removal is issued.

the pop-up menu.
You are immediately connected
to the repository that you selected.
- To disconnect from a repository, right-click the repository
connection from which you want to disconnect and select Disconnect from
the pop-up menu.
You are immediately disconnected
from the repository that you selected.
- To reconnect to the current repository using a different
user ID, right-click the current repository connection and select Reconnect from
the pop-up menu.
A Logon window
opens where you can specify a different user ID and password that
will be used to connect to the current repository.
- Click OK and you are reconnected
to the same repository but with a different user ID.
