About this task
When installing QMF for WebSphere on WAS, you can choose the detailed path installation method if you wish to
install the application by viewing all the installation options and parameters.Perform the
following steps to install QMF for WebSphere on WAS using the detailed path installation method:
Procedure
- Start the IBM WebSphere® administrative console by opening a web browser on a client
machine and entering the appropriate URL.
By default, the URL is http://host:port/ibm/console, where host is the host
name of the WAS server and port is the port on which the administrative console is configured to
listen (9060, by default).
- Expand Applications.
- Under Applications, expand Application
Types. Click Webpshere Enterprise Applications. The list of
Enterprise Applications displayed on the right side of the administrative console
Window.
- Click Install. The Preparing for the application installation page
displays on the right side of the administrative console window.
- On the Preparing for the application installation page, specify
the location of the EAR file that you want to install.
- If the QMF for WebSphere EAR file
is on the local machine, select Local file system. Use the Choose
File button to search for and locate the file.
- If the file is on the WAS server machine, select Remote file system. Use
the Browse button to search for and locate the file.
- Click Next. The second Preparing for the application
installation page opens.
- Choose the Detailed Path – Show all installation options and
parameters. option.
- Expland Choose to generate default bindings and mappings and
select Generate Default Bindings.
- Click Next. The Step 1: Select Installation
options page opens.
- Verify that the Deploy Web Services check box is clear and click
Next.
- The Step 2: Map modules to servers page opens. Select the module
and click Next.
- The Step 3: Provide JSP reloading options for Web modules page
opens. Accept the default values and click Next.
- The Step 4: Map shared libraries page opens. Select both the
Application and Module and click Next.
- The Step 5 : Map shared library relationships page opens. Accept
the default values and click Next.
- The Step 6 : Initialize parameters for servlets page opens. Accept
the default values and click Next.
- The Step 7 : Map virtual hosts for Web modules page opens. Select
the Web module and click Next.
- The Step 8: Map context roots for Web modules page opens. Accept
the default values and click Next.
- The Step 9: Map security roles to users and groups page opens.
Select the role
qmfadmin
and map the required WAS users to it. These users will be
able to login using the admin URL of QMF for WebSphere. Click
Next.
- The Step 10: Map JASPI provider page opens. Accept the default
values and click Next.
- The Step 11: Display module build Ids page opens. Accept the
default values and click Next.
- The Step 12: Summary page opens. Review the options and Click
Finish.
- Click Save after the installation process has
completed.
