About QMF Server
QMF Server is the core component of the QMF solution.
Caching
In QMF, caching is a feature that allows you to accelerate the application performance, but affects the relevance of the data.
Setting preferences
The Preferences dialog is used to set user preferences that will apply to specific QMF objects and functions.
Exporting and importing the JDBC driver and repositories information
QMF administrators can distribute repositories and JDBC driver information by exporting the settings.zip file; and then importing the settings.zip or the settings.xml file.
Using the Message Groups view
Administrators can use the Message Groups view to create and manage groups of workstations that are connected to a QMF Server. Grouping workstations enables administrators to perform operations on a group of workstations at a time.
Using the Services view
Use the Services view to start, stop, and edit QMF Server services.
Using the Repositories view
The Repositories view displays available repository storages and repositories that the selected storage contains.
Using the Scheduled Tasks view
Use the Scheduled Tasks view to create and manage QMF scheduled tasks.
Using the QMF Catalogs view
Use the QMF Catalogs view to create and manage QMF Catalogs. QMF Catalogs are sets of database tables that contain saved objects (queries, procedures, and forms), user resource limits and profiles, reports, miscellaneous settings and information. QMF Catalogs reside on database servers that host a Db2® database. For more information about QMF Catalogs, see QMF for Workstation documentation.
Using the Memory Usage view
Use the Memory Usage view to monitor and manage the QMF Server memory usage. The Memory Usage view incorporates a Garbage Collector function that reclaims memory occupied by objects that are no longer being used by the application. By running the Garbage Collector function you can improve the application performance.
Using the audit system
QMF provides an audit system to collect detailed information on user actions.
