Managing Canvas operations using the Canvas toolbar

The Canvas toolbar provides actions for managing the Canvas in ad hoc reports and visual dashboards.

Canvas toolbar options

A use the Canvas toolbar to add an object to the Canvas:

Each option on the Canvas toolbar is described in the following table:

Toolbar button Description
Create Layout

Click the Create Layout button to create an empty layout.

New Layout

Click the New Layout button to select layout from the list. Select Open default layout to switch to default Canvas layout.

Save Layout

Click the Save Layout button to save the current layout.

Save Layout As

Click the Save Layout as button to save the current layout as a Built-in, Shared (for dashboards only), or Personal Canvas (for dashboards only) type.

Set Layout as Default

Click the Set Layout as Default button to make the current layout default.

Clear Layout

Click the Clear Layout button to remove all objects from the current layout.

Export Layout

Click the Export Layout button to open the export dialog. In the dialog, specify the file name, the export area, and select the export format: PDF or PNG.

Toggle Wiring Lines

Click the Toggle Wiring Lines button to display or hide the wiring lines.

Switch to Normal Mode

Click the Switch to Normal Mode button to minimize the Canvas.

Switch to Fullscreen Mode

Click the Switch to Fullscreen Mode button to maximize the Canvas.

Add from Repository Click the Add from Repository button to display the Canvas internal tree of objects.
Add Label Click the Add Label button to add the label object to the Canvas.
Add Text Box Click the Add Text Box button to add the Text Box object to the Canvas.
Add Combo Box Click the Add Combo Box button to add the Combo Box object to the Canvas.
Add List Box Click the Add List Box button to add the List Box object to the Canvas.
