Modifying the structure of virtual data sources

Use the Structure tab of the virtual data source editor to modify the structure of virtual data sources.

1. In the Repository Explorer pane, select the table or query that you want to add to your virtual data source and click Copy Selected.
   You added an object to your virtual data source.

   You can also add tables to your virtual data source by using the Virtual Table wizard. For more information, see the Creating virtual tables topic of the User Help.

2. In the Tables pane, edit the tables that are stored in your virtual data source.
   1. To add a column to your table, select the table and click Add Column.
   2. To edit the expression of a calculated column, select a column with an expression and click Edit.
   3. To delete a column from your table, expand the table, select the column that you want to remove, and click Delete.
   4. To change the position of a column, expand your table, select the column that you want to reposition and click Move Up or Move Down.
   5. To specify cache expiration schedules for your table, select it and click Assign Expiration Schedules.
   6. To edit the source query of your table, right-click the table and select Edit Table SQL or Edit Table Link..., depending on the type of your source query.
