Setting Row Limit

You can set row limit for a query result for limiting the number of rows in the result set.

About this task

Each time a user runs the query, the row limit controls the maximum number for rows fetched for the query.

You can set the row limit for the result set from the Query menu or by clicking the Query Settings for Result Set toolbar button. The Query Settings for Result Set button is enabled, when following conditions are satisfied:
  • Connection to the data source is established
  • Query has been run

To set the row limit, perform either of the following steps:

Procedure

  1. From the Query Settings for Result Set toolbar button, select Set Row Limit. Enter the maximum number of rows to retrieve for this query and click OK.
    Note: If the row limit is not specified or set to zero, no row limits are applied.
  2. Alternately, you can select Set Row Limit from the Query menu and specify the maximum number of rows to retrieve.
