Working with Ad hoc reports

Ad hoc reports are Canvas-based reports that graphically represent information retrieved from a database. An Ad hoc report includes a scene with a Canvas.

You can place multiple objects on the Canvas and manage the Canvas space to suit your purposes.

The Canvas Internal Tree displays the objects in all available workspaces and allows you to add them to your report.

The Canvas supports charts and grids that can be based on the following objects:

• Analytical Query
• Compound Dynamart
• Drill-down Path
• Dynamart
• Table
• Visual Query

The Canvas with all the objects is saved as a Built-in layout when ad hoc report is saved. You can create multiple layouts for each report.

You can also link objects in the Canvas of ad hoc reports and visual dashboards.
