SQL clients

The SQL clients allow users to access the IBM® Netezza® system as a data source. Netezza supports connectivity from clients that use applications such as ODBC, JDBC, and OLE DB to access the Netezza database. Before you upgrade to a new Netezza software release, review the supported SQL client revisions described in the IBM Netezza ODBC, JDBC, and OLE DB Installation and Configuration Guide to ensure that the clients and revisions used at your site works with the Netezza release. After you upgrade the Netezza software, your client users might need to upgrade the drivers to the latest versions for best access performance. You can have only one ODBC driver installed on your system. If you need a different driver, you must remove the installed driver and install the different one.
