Installing the script workbench into Rational Software Architect

You can install the script workbench into IBM® Rational® Software Architect for IBM Product Master.

Before you begin

If you previously installed the alphaWorks® version of script workbench for Product Master, you must uninstall it before you proceed with this installation. The alphaWorks version and this version of Script workbench for Product Master cannot be installed together into the same instance of IBM Rational Software Architect.

Procedure

  1. Click Help > Install New Software. The Installation window displays.
  2. Click the What is already installed? link to check whether there is an existing Script workbench for Product Master.
  3. Select the Installed Software tab and search for Script Workbench...IBM Product Master, where ... is the product version extension or base code. If there is an existing Script workbench for Product Master:
    1. Select Script Workbench...IBM Product Master and click Uninstall.
    2. Click Finish. You might need to restart your system after the uninstallation is complete.
  4. Install Script workbench for Product Master.
    1. Back on the Installation window, click Add.
    2. Find the workbench compressed file for your current product version in the workbench folder on the product CD or the unpacked archive that is downloaded from the product site.
    3. Click Archive and specify the location of the Script workbench for Product Master compressed file.
    4. Clear Group items by category check box.
    5. Select the check boxes of the two Script workbench for Product Master files and click Next to install.
    6. Select I Accept the terms in the license agreement, and click Finish.
    7. If a warning message displays, click OK to install.
    8. After the installation is complete, restart Rational Software Architect.
  5. Verify the installed features:
    • For a fresh install, check for base feature and your current product version feature under installed features.
    • For an update install, installing your current product version while you have an earlier version of script workbench, check for an updated base feature, your current product version feature, and features for previous versions.
