Best practices for the export and Import feature (catalogs and hierarchies)

• Use the Export and Import feature for small set of items.
  • Total number of items to be imported or exported should ideally be around 5000 items with a maximum limit of 10, 000. Increasing the items beyond these limits might cause degradation in performance (time that is taken to complete the import transactions).
  • For import or export of more than 10, 000 items, you can use the Admin UI jobs.
• Increasing the number of jobs linearly increase the number of items getting imported.
  For example, 10, 000 imports with 1 job takes approximately 24 minutes, 10, 000 imports with 2 jobs (each jobs having 5000 items) takes approximately 12 minutes.
