Solution developers tasks
Solution developers take specifications from solution architects and create the objects that make up the PIM system. Typical responsibilities of solution developers include creating data model objects (such as specs, sub specs, hierarchies, catalogs, and lookup tables), creating workflows and collaboration areas, creating the security model (such as creating users, roles, and access control groups), and creating import and export jobs, searches, and selections.
In many cases, you can use Java™ or scripts to create the objects that you need for your PIM system, but you can also use the product interface for some of these tasks. The solution developer tasks are available from the consoles and menus under the Product Manager, Collaboration Manager, and Data Model Manager menu choices in the interface. Depending on the role that you have and the level of access and customization, certain tasks might not be available for you.
