Selecting attributes for indexing

You can select the set of attributes to index before exporting data to IBM® Data Explorer.

You can select the set of attributes that you want to index to reduce the data that is being sent to IBM Data Explorer. This also reduces the number of attributes being displayed on the free text search result screen. To select these set of attributes for indexing, use the Enable for Free Text search facet available on attributes of the Product Master Spec. This facet is of type flag.

You can add this facet to secondary specs and subspecs as well as enable or disable it for individual attributes. However, it is not available for Lookup Spec and Destination Spec types. The default value of the facet is True. When you export catalog data to IBM Data Explorer, only those attributes whose facet value is set to True are exported and available for free text search.
