Products tab

The Products tab of the Search page displays following sub-tabs; New Search, Saved Search, Saved Template, and Saved List.

The states of the all the options in the Products tab are saved across user sessions.

New search

The New search feature displays the search results based on your specified criteria.
To create a new search, proceed as follows,
  1. Select the required catalog from the Catalog list.
  2. In the Select category field, click Edit category mapping. The Select category pop-up window opens.
  3. In the Select category pop-up window,
    • To filter the category tree, enter appropriate keyword in the Search category field, and click Search.
    • To filter the empty categories (no items or subcategories), click Filter, and select Hide unpopulated categories.
  4. Specify the required category, and click . The Selected | count pane gets populated.
  5. Click OK to save your selection. The Select category field in the Search page reflects your selected category.
  6. Click Add criterion.
    1. Select an appropriate attribute.
    2. Specify an operator. You can choose from various operator types. For more information, see Supported operators.
      Note: For multi-occurrence attribute types, if you select the operator as In or Not In,
      • You can list of comma separated values as a search criteria
      • You can also specify Any or All criteria (match either all the occurrences or match any of the occurrence).
    3. To further filter the search results with an appropriate Logical operator (And/OR), click Add criterion specify details.
      Note:
      • By default, value of the condition field is always And.
      • The And condition has a higher precedence than the Or condition, which means that the And logical operation is evaluated before an Or operation.
  7. Click Search.
    Note: For any category, the Item rich search can perform valid search on available attributes only.
  8. Optional: Click Save search to save this search with pre-defined search specifications as a search under the Saved search tab > Saved searches list. In the Save search dialog box, enter the following and click Save.
    • Name of the search
    • Description of the search (if needed)
  9. Optional: Click Save template to save this search with pre-defined, but editable search specifications as a template under the Saved template tab > Saved templates list. In the Save template dialog box, enter the following and click Save.
    • Name of the template
    • Description of the template (if needed)
    • Save the current parameters as part of the template - Select Save the current parameters as part of the template check box to save the criteria as part of the template. The template provides a specified set of search criteria that enables you to retrieve the appropriate search results based on the search criteria.
    • Share this template with other users - Select Share this template with other users check box to share the template with all the users of the company in which the search template is defined. A search template can also be private to the creator. Only a creator can delete the search template.
Note: You can directly edit values within fields without the use of editors in the Search page.

Saved search

The Saved search feature displays the saved searches with pre-defined search specifications.
  • To search by using a saved search, from the Saved searches list, select the appropriate search, and click Search.
  • To see list of saved searches, click List View. The Saved searches | count pop-up window opens. The Catalog, category, and Add criterion fields get auto-populated.
  • To delete a saved search, click Delete selected saved search.

Saved template

The Saved template feature displays the saved searches with pre-defined, but editable search specifications.
  • To search by using a saved template, from the Saved templates list, select the appropriate template, and click Search.
  • To see list of saved templates, click List View. The Saved templates | count pop-up window opens. The Catalog, Select category, and Add criterion fields get auto-populated.
  • To delete a saved template, click Delete selected saved template.

The purpose of a having a Saved search template is to build a pre-populated reusable search criteria so that you do not need to repeatedly keep doing that task. If needed, such templates can also be shared with other users for reference. Though the reusable criteria are in the read-only mode, you can modify the values to run the search on varied data that is required according to your requirements.

Saved List

The Saved List feature displays the search results with pre-defined search specifications.

To save the search specifications, click Save search. The Save search pop-up window opens. In the Search name field, enter an appropriate name. You can also enter a description. Click Save template to save with editable search specifications. The Save template pop-up window opens. In the Template name field, enter an appropriate name. You can also enter a description. The Search name or Template name field does not support special characters.
