Creating a GDS role

A role is a collection of tasks, services, and information for a user or a group of users. A role defined by you provides the visualization of contents and the navigation structure within the solution. After defining a role, you can assign multiple users to a role and a user can have multiple roles. The privileges can only be assigned to a role which in turn gets inherited to its assigned users.

Procedure

  1. Click Data Model Manager > Security > Role Console.
  2. Click New, provide a name and description for the role.
  3. Select default for ACG from the drop-down menu, and provide GDS-specific access privileges for this role. If you want to create a single user for Product Master and GDS role then Product Master privileges are also be selected.
  4. Click Save to save privileges for this role. A sample role provided by GDS data model is GDS Administrators.
    Note: The roles and ACGs that are set-up in Product Master are now applied to Global Data Synchronization (GDS).
