License metrics
The license for the IBM® Product Master 14.0 is determined by using Resource Value Unit (RVU) metric unit.
An RVU is one of the license metric units through which a program can be licensed. The license
entitlements are determined based on number of units for a specific resource that either a program
uses or manages.
- The RVU entitlements are specific to a program and resource type and they cannot be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with RVU entitlements of another program or resource.
- Also, instead of acquiring entitlements for resources that are used by the program directly, the licensee must acquire sufficient entitlements to cover resources managed by the program.
- Additionally, to estimate the number of RVUs required, the licensee must determine,
- The industry category that is designated to the licensee.
For example, if the assigned category is nonfinancial services, then the licensee cannot use the program for financial services (banking, financial services, and insurance industries).
- The number of resources managed by the program within each Hub. the licensee may use the hubs only for which you have sufficient entitlements.
- The industry category that is designated to the licensee.
- The number of resources that IBM Product Master manages is determined by counting the number of
unique data records in the
ITM
table.Note: This count excludes historical records, records that are not yet in the source catalogs, and the records limited to the internal program execution. -
Additionally, the following rules apply to the details listed in the RVU requirements table.
- The database rows that share a common Cross- Referencing Primary Identifier are counted only
once in determining the total number of data records for the applicable hub, even though the data is
managed in separate instances and/or program components. Here,
Cross Referencing Primary Identifier
means a source system primary unique identifier or a unique record identifier that is generated by a program for identifying a common record within the program.
- The database rows that share a common Cross- Referencing Primary Identifier are counted only
once in determining the total number of data records for the applicable hub, even though the data is
managed in separate instances and/or program components. Here,
- Additionally, the licensee may use the program without further RVU license entitlements, in one or more nonproduction environments only for development, testing, and quality assurance purposes.
- The duplicate instances of already-counted data record created due to using a program in high availability (HA) or disaster recovery configuration are not counted in determining the total number of data records for that hub.
The following table specifies the entitlements that the licensee must obtain depending on the number of RVUs and resources that are required for your environment.
Number of resources | RVU per resource | Additional RVU requirements | |
