You can configure the list of available choices and defaults
for the relationship attributes of your spec-node.
About this task
Let's say an application designer creates a spec that includes
a relationship attribute. The application designer wants to configure
a list of allowed destination catalogs, along with a default catalog
and a hierarchy. The user edits the entry with the relationship attribute
and sees that the user interface reflects the wants of the application
designer to limit the choices of the destination catalogs and defaults.
You can use any of the following three properties to configure a
relationship attribute on a spec node:
- Relationship Default Catalog
- Relationship Default Hierarchy
- Relationship Destination Catalogs
Procedure
- Select the drop-down field under the Type and
above the Attribute Collection Associations fields.
The following three fields display:
- Relationship Default Catalog
- Relationship Default Hierarchy
- Relationship Destination Catalogs
- Select the default catalog name from the drop-down list
in the Relationship Default Catalog field.
Note: If no default catalog is set, or if the chosen default
is not in the list of destinations, or if the chosen catalog is “source”,
but the attribute is shown on a hierarchy, then the first catalog
alphabetically in the drop down will automatically be selected, which
will then pick the corresponding hierarchy.
- Select the default hierarchy name from the drop-down list
in the Relationship Default Hierarchy field.
Note: If no default hierarchy is specified or if the default
value is invalid in that the chosen default is not mapped to the picked
catalog, then default will be to the primary hierarchy of the chosen
catalog. An example of an invalid default hierarchy is one which does
not correspond to the selected catalog.
- Click CLICK HERE for the Relationship
Destination Catalogs field to specify which catalogs you
want to add or remove from the mapping.
Note: If no destination
catalog is specified, then all of the catalogs display. If a destination
catalog is selected, but it does not resolve, then no catalogs display
in the user interface.
- Select the type and click Save.
