Generating renditions

You can generate renditions (variations) of different resolutions of an asset image for different channels.

Before you begin

Add channel name and resolution (%) in the DAM Renditions Configuration Lookup table.
Note: Even if multiple channels have same resolution, only a single rendition is created.

About this task

You can add a rendition for an image type asset (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, or WebP) only.
Navigation

Left pane > Data management > Digital Assets Management page

Procedure

Proceed as follows to add a rendition.

  1. Select an asset and click Open.
  2. In the asset details page, click Renditions.
Note: The Renditions button is disabled if,
    • The asset is not an image
    • The asset is created using rendition.
    • The image format is of animated WebP type (Unsupported); hence, such images are displayed as static without any animation.
  3. If a rendition exists, click Yes in the Renditions confirmation window. If a rendition does not exist, a job is scheduled to generate rendition.
  4. Click Show notifications in the upper-right of the interface to see the job status. After job is successful, create Refresh.

Results

Click Renditions tab to see renditions of the asset. The rendition displays the name of the rendition and name of the channel.
  • Click a rendition to see the enlarged image of rendition. The enlarged rendition displays the name of the rendition, name of the channel, size, date created, and the image type.
Note: If you do not see the rendition, reschedule a job.
