Editing digital assets
Asset (image) editing has a list of features that can help you give a new look to your image.
About this task
Navigation
Left pane > Data management > Digital Assets Management page
Procedure
Proceed as follows to edit an asset.
- Select digital assets that you want to edit, and click Open. The Digital Asset Catalog / <digital asset name> page opens.

In the Asset edit tab, you can perform following actions,
(Transform)
You can perform image transforms without destroying the original image. - Flip vertical 90
- Flips the original image into a mirror view vertically by 90 degrees.
- Flip horizontal 90
- Flips the original image into a mirror view horizontally by 90 degrees.
- Rotate left 45
- Rotates the original image left by 45 degrees.
- Rotate right 45
- Rotates the original image right by 45 degrees.
- Crop
- Crops an asset as required.
- Click Custom to apply a crop box on the image and click
to crop. The crop box is adjustable in size. Click Reset default to undo the changes done.
- Click Resize (px) to resize the asset according to your specification. By
default, the editable fields display the actual asset dimension. Modify the values and click
to crop the asset.
(Filter)
Asset filter applies colors on the image with the following four variations, click Apply. - None
- Reset the image to the original version.
- Black and White
- Convert the asset to Black and White scale according to the RHS color chart.
- Saturation
- Saturates an asset. Adjust the slider on the thumbnail to control the saturation.
- Brightness
- Increase or decrease brightness. Adjust the slider on the thumbnail to control the brightness.
Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer has a CSS filter limitation due to which the filter thumbnails do not appear correctly.(Watermark)
Specify the following values, and click Apply. - Type text
- Enter the text that you want to use as a watermark.
- Text position
- Select the watermark text position on the image.
- Font
- Select a font type for the watermark text.
- Size
- Select a font size for the watermark text.
- Color
- Select a font color for the watermark text.
(Asset rename)
In the Type text field, enter the new asset name, and click OK. (Change file type)
In the Select file type list, select the new asset file type, and click OK. You can convert an asset to the following types:- JPEG
- JPG
- GIF
- PNG
- GAWebPThis format is supported by the following pages.
- Collaboration area - Multi-edit and single-edit pages, Multi-occurrence
- Data explorer - Multi-edit and single-edit pages, preview, Thumbnail, and URL type of attributes
- Data management page - Upload, Rendition, Type conversion
- Search - Digital Assets tab

- Merchandize user

(Zoom controls)
Click to visualize an asset minutely. You can configure the zoom in and zoom out values through the config.json file by using the following properties:{"ImageDefaultZoom": "200", "ImageMaxZoom": "400", "ImageMinZoom": "25"}
- Optional:
GAVideo digital asset - Click to open Asset tab. You can preview the video directly in the application. Supported video formats are MP4, and WebM. This feature is accessible by a user with the Digital Assets Manager or Merchandise Manager role.Important:- When you upload a video asset, though the Upload Local Assets job
displays a
Completed
status, it is still running in the backend. The asset gets locked and you should not interact with the asset until the backend upload completes. Depending on the asset size, this can take approximately 30 minutes. - For video assets with file size of more than 10 MB, go to Data management > Digital Assets Management > FTP to upload the video asset.
