Editing or creating a catalog

Using the Catalog console, you can edit an existing catalog or create a new catalog.

About this task

To edit an existing catalog or create a new catalog, proceed as follows.
  • To edit an existing catalog, click <catalog name> link.
  • To create a new catalog, click Create catalog.
The Catalog console <catalog name> page opens.

Procedure

  1. In the Details section, add or edit the following.
    Details tab
    Name Displays name of the catalog.
    Version name This field is visible only if you are editing a catalog. Displays name of the version.
    Spec Select a spec. Click if you want to view or edit the selected spec. Click to add a spec.
    Display attribute Click to select the display attribute.
    Important: You cannot create a Localized attribute as a Display attribute.
    Access control group Click to select the access control group.
    Primary hierarchy Click to select the primary hierarchy. Click if you want to view or edit the selected hierarchy. Click to add a new hierarchy.
    Secondary hierarchy Click to add a secondary hierarchy.
    • Click to select a secondary hierarchy.
    • Click if you want to view or edit the selected secondary hierarchy.
    • Click to delete the selected hierarchy.
    User defined core attribute collection Click to select a user-defined core attribute collection.
    Use ordering Select to use ordering in the catalog.
    Cached catalog Select to cache the catalog.
    Scripts section
    Entry build script This section is visible only if you are editing a catalog. Select an appropriate script for the catalog.
    Pre-processing script
    Post-processing script
    Post-save script
    Custom attributes In the Custom attributes section, click to add a custom attribute to the catalog. Click to delete the custom attribute.
    Linked attributes section
    Click to add a new row. Double-click in each column to select and specify, source attribute, catalog, and destination attribute. The Source attribute column displays all the linked attributes of primary spec. The Destination attribute column displays all the display attributes of the selected catalog.
    Versions tab
    Date Displays the date when the version was created.
    Name Displays the name of the version. Double-click a row to change a version name.
    Type Displays the type of the version.
  2. Click Save.
