Representing steps in a workflow

You need to meet with the client to understand what the representing steps are within the business process.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have a business process to work with.

Procedure

  1. Discuss with the client the steps that are defined in the business process. The output from this discussion becomes the process flow. Similar to a use case, there is one action, or task, per process flow. If there are multiple tasks, there will be multiple process flows.
  2. Identify the steps that are needed to be considered for the workflow. You will be providing the solution developer with only the steps that the workflow must have.
  3. Identify the performers for each step.
  4. Determine how the client wants the collaboration area set up. How many different views are needed?
