Character set error messages during data export or import

Character set error messages display when you create test environments by exporting and importing a copy of the database.

Symptoms

For example, if you export a database that uses the US7ASCII character set, the following error message is recorded in the export log: Export done in US7ASCII character set and UTF8 NCHAR character set server uses UTF8 character set (possible charset conversion).

Resolving the problem

Whenever exporting and importing the database, set NLS_LANG to american_america.utf8.
