Accessory products

An accessory is a product that complements the current item.

For example, a headset can be offered as an accessory with an mp3 player. An mp3 player might support one or multiple types of headsets and all of the headsets are considered accessories. An accessory is often less expensive than the main product.

This example is an item-to-item relationship because the accessory product and the main product are both items. The data modeling concepts are similar to those for cross-sell and up-sell, where the main item has pointers to the related item (accessory).
