Filtering a list of items and categories

You can use the text field boxes on the Multi Edit screen to filter through the list of items or categories for easier searching and modifying.

Before you begin

Ensure that the attributes on which you want to filter are indexed.

About this task

You can filter only the string and string-based data types.
The following list contains examples of some of the string types of attributes:
  • String
  • String enumeration
  • URL - In the url field of the Persona-based UI, specify any URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and click the icon to open the page as a new browser tab. If you enter a wrong URL, the icon remains disabled.
    Note: You can specify only the English language URLs.
  • Image URL
  • Thumbnail image
  • Thumbnail image URL
  • Binary
  • Image
Important: You cannot filter on numeric attributes.

Procedure

  1. Add a catalog in the left pane navigation and click +.
  2. Expand the hierarchy to view the categories. Click the link next to the category that lists the number of items that are associated with that category, and select Edit All. The Multi-edit screen opens and a list of items display.
  3. Select the filter icon in the top right corner to turn the filtering on. A row of text boxes display under each column.
  4. Click in the text box under the column that you want to filter on.
  5. Provide a value for your search criteria in the text box and press Enter to apply the filter. Remove the contents of the filter text box and press Enter to remove the filter.
