Editing attribute values using the pop-up menu

You can edit attribute values for either categories or items using the pop-up menu.

Before you begin

You must search for the items that you want to edit.

Procedure

  1. Expand the catalog module in the left pane navigation to view the list of categories or items.
  2. Click on a category or an item to open in the right pane.
  3. Modify an attribute value for an entry choosing any option:
    Option Description
    Deleting attribute text:
    1. Right click on any text populated field row. A list of options to edit the attribute value displays.
    2. Optional:You can delete the text within the field by selecting Clear Field.
      Note: Selecting Clear Field deletes the content within the field, not the field itself.
    Adding an occurrence to an attribute:
    1. Click Add more next to an attribute. Alternatively, you can right click on the name of an attribute and select Add occurrence. An occurrence is added to the attribute.
    Deleting an occurrence from an attribute:
    1. Right-click on the number next to the occurrence of an attribute that you want to delete.
    2. Select Delete occurrence. The occurrence is deleted from the attribute.
  4. Optional: You can make changes to a specified attribute across multiple items.
    Option Description
    Copying an attribute value:
    1. Select the cell. Ensure that you select the cell itself, not the contents in the cell.
    2. Right-click and choose Copy Cell.
    3. Select the rows that you want to update the attributes with this data that you just copied. Use standard Windows multi-select options, for example, select a row, then press Shift and select the last row in the set.
    4. Right-click and choose Paste. The paste shows you what attribute will be pasted.
    Deleting an attribute value:
    1. Select the categories or items from the left pane navigation. A list of attributes related to the categories or items display in the Multi Edit screen. The attributes are listed in columns.
    2. Right click on any cell or row. A list of options to edit the attribute value displays.
    3. Optional:Select Delete Cell to delete the text within the cell.
      Note: Selecting Delete Cell will delete the content within the field, not the field itself.
    Deleting a category or item:
    1. Select the categories or items from the left pane navigation. A list of attributes related to the categories or items display in the Multi Edit screen. The attributes are listed in columns.
    2. Right click on any cell or row. A list of options to edit the attribute displays.
    3. Optional:Delete the row by selecting Delete Row. The category or item is deleted.
    If you are editing through the Single edit pop-up window of the Multi-edit screen, do the following:
    1. Right-click and choose Copy Attribute. Close the Single edit pop-up window to return to the Multi edit screen.
    2. Select the rows that you want to update the attributes with this data that you just copied. Use standard Windows multi-select options, for example, select a row, then press Shift and select the last row in the set.
    3. Right-click and choose Paste. The paste shows you what attribute will be pasted.
    4. Click Save.
  5. Click Save.
