Role Console

Use the Role Console to manage your roles, which you use to control a user's privileges to the catalog. You can also view the users that are assigned to a role and edit the association of a role and your custom tools from the Role Console.

The Role Console displays the roles as rows in a table. To customize the columns that are included in the table, click Customize button in the upper right corner of the table to display the Properties section. Click directly on the column header to sort through that particular column. To search for specific roles and display only those rows that match your search criteria, click Filter button at the top of the table.

You can create, modify, and delete roles from the Role Console. To create a new role, click New. To edit a role, click the check box next to the role, and then click Edit. To delete a role, click the check box next to each role, and then click Delete.

You can also view the users that are assigned to a role and edit associations between roles and your custom tools from the Role Console. To display the users that are assigned to a role, click the description in the Assigned to column of the table. To edit a role association, click the check box next to the role, and then click Custom Tools Map.
