Hierarchy Console
Use the Hierarchy Console to manage hierarchies. You can add or modify hierarchies from the Hierarchy Console.
The Hierarchy Console displays hierarchies as rows in a table. To customize
the columns that are included in the table, click in the upper right corner of the table to
display the Properties section. Click directly on the column header to sort through that particular
column.
To perform an advanced search within a hierarchy, select the hierarchy and click Rich Search at the top of the Hierarchy Console. You can specify detailed search criteria such as, Hierarchy Node Common Attributes, Default Hierarchy Primary Spec, and Item Hierarchy Specs to search within a hierarchy.
You can create, modify, and delete hierarchies from the Hierarchy Console.
To create a new hierarchy, click at the top of the console. To edit a hierarchy, click the hierarchy name. To
modify the attributes of a hierarchy, select the hierarchy and click
Attributes at the top of the console.
To delete a hierarchy, select the hierarchy and click at the top of the console. An error occurs if you try to delete a hierarchy that is
currently being used by another object such as, a catalog or organization.
By default, all hierarchies have the System Default view. To add a new view to a hierarchy, select the hierarchy and click Views at the top of the console.
If you decide that you want to use a prior version of a hierarchy, select the hierarchy and click Rollback on the toolbar, and then select the version of the hierarchy that you want to roll back to. The rollback operation is not reversible. If you roll back to the previous version, the current version is permanently deleted.
You can also import and export a hierarchy from the Hierarchy Console. To import a hierarchy, select a hierarchy and click Import on top of the console. To export a hierarchy, select a hierarchy and click Export on top of the console.
