In order for SSO in IBM® Product Master to work,
you must configure the synchronization between repositories to ensure that you have security access
to both the LDAP repository and the Product Master
internal repository.
About this task
In order for SSO to work, you have to have a unique identity, for example a unique
username. When you log into the LDAP repository with your credentials, your credentials are verified
against the LDAP registry. If a user is in LDAP and not in the Product Master internal repository it can create a potential
problem because they might be able to log into the security realm and get access to PIM while not
being authorized. Also, if you are recognized by the Product Master, but are not recognized in LDAP, you will not
be able to log into LDAP.
Procedure
- Configure synchronization between the LDAP repository and Product Master internal
repository.
- Specify your user credentials by performing the following
steps:
- Access the Product Master login
page.
- Provide your user name, password, and company name. Click Submit.
Your user credentials are verified against the Product Master registry.
After verification, your requested page displays.
Authenticate your credentials from any one of the following.
- Local database
- LDAP server
- SSO support from the application server
