Restrictions for propagating roles

Use the role propagation restrictions to ensure that your data model is propagated successfully.

You can propagate roles to use for both the source and target instances.

The following are propagated automatically:

Adding a role.
Modifying a role.
Deleting a role if the role is not associated to an access control group. Deleting a role can be propagated only through deleting import jobs through the Collaboration Manager > Imports > Import Console in the user interface.

If you try to delete a role that is associated to an access control group, the import fails and you do not receive an error message to inform you of the failure.

Role-to-custom-tool mapping information is not automatically propagated.

Renaming a role and propagating roles when one of the Product Master instances, either the source or the target, uses an LDAP user repository, is not supported.
