Modify lookup tables to contain values for Global Data Synchronization attributes

You can only assign values from a list of valid values to a Global Data Synchronization attribute. If you need to assign a new value to a Global Data Synchronization attribute, or modify an existing value, then you need to add the value to the list of valid values in the lookup table, or modify the existing value in the lookup table.

Procedure

  1. Identify the data pool attribute that you need to modify.
  2. Identify the corresponding Global Data Synchronization attribute for the data pool attribute.
The mapping between Global Data Synchronization and data pool attributes can be found under ~/etc/messaging/xml/demand/wwrev6 directory.
  3. Identify the IBM® Product Master backend spec for the Global Data Synchronization attribute.
For global attributes, the spec is Global_Attributes_Spec and for local attributes, the spec is Global_Local_Attribute_Spec.
  4. Identify the lookup table for each Global Data Synchronization attribute in the spec.
  5. Click Product Manager > Lookup Tables >Lookup Table Console to navigate to the Lookup Table Console.
  6. Click the name of the lookup table that you want to update.
  7. Click Edit icon to edit the lookup table to reflect the new acceptable values for the attribute, or click Single-add button to add a single entry in the lookup table, and Multiple-add button to add multiple entries.
  8. Edit or enter the values in the code, description, and agency fields.
  9. Click Single-add button in the single entry window, or click Add Items button in the multiple entry window if you add new entries.
Note: You must select the check box for each entry if you are adding multiple entries.
  10. Save the lookup table.
  11. Restart the Global Data Synchronization feature.
