What’s new in IBM Process Mining 2.2.0

The 2.2.0 release of IBM Process Mining introduces the following enhancements and changes:

Advanced custom metrics and improved Analytics

IBM Process Mining 2.2.0 introduces enhancements to custom metrics and Analytics through the migration of the user interface components to React.

Custom metrics enhancements:

Object tables support
Object tables can now be selected when building custom metric measures and filters, with object table fields available as "group by" elements. This extends custom metrics capabilities beyond event log data to include master data and contextual information.
Open SQL statements
Advanced mode now supports open SQL statements for more flexibility in custom metric creation.
Multiple group by clauses
Support for multiple group by clauses enables more complex data aggregations and analysis scenarios.
Enhanced SQL editor
The improved editor provides SQL syntax highlighting, auto-suggestions, snippets support, and auto-enlarging.

Analytics dashboard improvements:

Improved user interface
Easier dashboard creation, configuration, and usage thanks to improved, more intuitive UI.
Improved widget configuration
Enhanced data configuration interface with suggested configurations based on data sources, visual map support for table cells, and measure formatting.
Better filter management

A distinction between user's filters and dashboard filters. User’s filters can be applied from Quick filters and widgets, and only you can see them, while dashboard filters are created from the Manage filters tab and can be published for others to see.

For more information about custom metrics, see Custom metrics.

For more information about Analytics, see Using dashboards.

NextGen model and multi-process analysis enhancements

IBM Process Mining 2.2.0 introduces significant enhancements to multi-process analysis for analyzing interconnected business processes.

Multi-process analysis introduces the following improvements:

Improved model visualization
New model with rounded edges for better readability and consistent default colors for event logs.
Per-user model detail controls
Each user can now customize their own level of model detail without affecting other users.
Multi-process data cleansing
You can apply data cleansing features (activity aliases and ignore activity) directly in multi-process projects without modifying underlying flat processes. Duplicate activities across processes are automatically aliased (for example, "ProcessA: In Progress" and "ProcessB: In Progress").
Process occurrence filters
You can filter multi-process clusters by specifying the inclusion/exclusion of individual flat process cases, making it easier to distinguish between workflows of specific objects.

For more information about creating and working with multi-process projects, see Creating a multi-process project.

Helm installation

IBM Process Mining can now be installed using Helm charts. Helm is a package manager for Kubernetes that streamlines the installation and management of applications through pre-configured resource packages called Helm Charts.

The Helm-based installation has the following characteristics:

  • No dependency on Cloud Pak Common Services
  • Support for air-gapped environments without requiring ImageContentSourcePolicy or ImageDigestMirrorSet
  • All resources installed in a single namespace
  • Simplified configuration and customization through Helm values
  • Customer-provisioned PostgreSQL database

For more information, see Helm installation.

Removed Legacy features

Legacy features that were deprecated in IBM Process Mining 2.1.1 are no longer available. To learn which features were removed, see Deprecated and removed components.

Note: You can still migrate Legacy projects and widgets to IBM Process Mining 2.2.0. For more information, see Migrating Legacy projects to IBM Process Mining 2.x and Migrating widgets to IBM Process Mining 2.x.
