View options

On the process model page, click the View mode button with an eye icon to enter the View options pane and change the view of your process model.

Process types

Note: This section is only available in multiprocess projects. For more information about multiprocess projects, see Creating a multiprocess project.
In the Process types section, you can view the following information:
Process IDs
IDs of projects inside the multiprocess project.
Number of filtered objects
Amount of cases after filters are applied.
Number of objects in total
Total amount of cases from each process before filters are applied.

Ignored activities

The Ignored activities section is enabled only if at least one activity is ignored in the process model.

The list of Ignored activities includes all selected activities to ignore in the process model. For more information on ignored activities, see Ignore activity.

Model view

You can use the Model view section to adjust the view of your process model.

In the Model view section, you can use the following configurations:
KPI palette
You can activate the KPI analysis view. This toggle is available only if you set the view mode to Duration. KPI values influence the look of the activities and edges in the window.
Landscape orientation
You can change the orientation of the process model to horizontal or vertical.
NextGen model
You can see your model in form of a NextGen model. If you are inside a multiprocess project, the NextGen model is applied automatically. For more information about the NextGen model, see NextGen model.
Animated transitions
You can set your transitions to an animated form.
Color filled activities
You can decide whether you want the color of your activity boxes to reflect the percentage of a chosen model view metric (like duration, frequency, or cost). For more information, see Model views.
Model style
Note: This feature is available only in multiprocess projects.
You can select an automatic style or a tube style for your process model.

Model detail

Use the Model details section to analyze the activity and relation complexity of your process model. Perform one or both of the following actions:

  • To select the percentage of visible activities, use the activity complexity slider. When you select a low percentage, the process model displays only the most frequent activities.
  • To increase the percentage of relations between the activities, use the relation complexity slider. When you increase this percentage, the process model displays the less frequent paths and provides a detailed vision of the process.
If the details of your model are too complex, 100% of activities and relations might not be viewable. The following parameters regulate the thresholds for generating a process model:
Parameter Explanation
engine.defaults.maxNodesThresholdForModelDetail (default: 150) Model is too complex if the model is rendered with more than the set activities.
engine.defaults.maxEdgesThresholdForModelDetail (default: 500) Model is too complex if the model is rendered with more than the set relations.

The complexity level is applied per user. This means that when you select a certain complexity level, other people working on the same project will not see the complexity you selected.

Complexity levels are automatically connected to filters. If you apply a filter, and then a certain complexity level, these settings get saved together. The next time you apply this filter, you will see the complexity level you selected before.

The complexity levels are reset to default in the following scenarios:
  • if a mining is launched
  • if there is a change in process parameters (if you click Apply on any new settings)
  • if you apply a new filter

Highlight activities

To highlight the activities for a role in the Highlight activities section of the View options pane, select the required role from the list. The process model displays the activities that the selected role performs.
