Creating and managing a task mining project
To begin using IBM Task Mining, you must create a task mining project. You can create either a linked or a standalone IBM Task Mining project. A linked project is connected to a IBM Process Mining project, while a standalone task mining project is an independent.
Before you begin
In order to use IBM Task Mining, you must have the correct permissions and authorizations. If you are not the administrator, you have to ask them to assign certain authorizations and permissions to you. If you have access to an administrator account, you can define authorizations and permissions yourself. For more information, see Managing authorizations and Default user permissions.
Creating a linked task mining project
You can link an existing IBM Process Mining project to your task mining project. This allows you to compare and correlate the business process discovered using IBM Process Mining and the business activities captured using IBM Task Mining Agent.
Complete the following steps to create a linked IBM Task Mining project:
- On the Home page of Task Mining Web, click Create task mining project.
- Give your project a name.

Select the Use existing organization option and select an organization name from the list in the Organization field.Note: To link a task mining project, you must have an existing organization. Do not choose to create a new organization.

From the Linked Process list, select the IBM Process Mining project that you want to link with the IBM Task Mining project.

Switch the Enable Obfuscation & Anonymization toggle to Yes or No.
Important: You cannot change this configuration of Obfuscation & Anonymization of the screen captures and the extracted data once a project is created. -
Switch the Agent plugins enabled toggle to Yes or No. For more information, see Task Mining Agent plug-ins.

Click Create project.
Creating a standalone task mining project
- On the Home page of Task Mining Web, click Create task mining project.
- Give your project a name.

Link the task mining project to an existing organization or a new organization.

If you want to link your process to an existing organization, select the Use existing organization option and select an organization name from the list in the Organization field. Leave the Linked Process field empty as you are creating a standalone task mining project.

If you want to link your process to a new organization, select the Create new organization option and give the organization a name.

Enable the standalone TM project by switching the Standalone task mining project field to Yes.

Switch the Enable Obfuscation & Anonymization toggle to Yes or No.

Switch the Agent plugins enabled toggle to Yes or No. For more information, see Task Mining Agent plug-ins.

Click Create project.
Opening a IBM Task Mining project
To open a IBM Task Mining project, select it from the projects list on the Task Mining Web home page. Alternatively, use the search bar on the home page to find the project, and click on it.
Deleting a IBM Task Mining project
To delete a IBM Task Mining project, complete the following steps:
- In the Task Mining Web home page, find the project you want to delete.
- Click on the ellipsis button and select Delete.
