Attributes
An attribute is contextual data that provides differentiation in process analysis. Using attributes is helpful in adding context to a process and analyzing it from different perspectives.
For example, an attribute can be a vendor or a material. By using attributes, you can understand how efficient your process works when specific vendors or materials are involved.
You can set the following attributes:
- Threshold for distinct values
- You can manage the Maximum number of distinct values that an attribute can have.
- Role attribute
- You can choose where the role is defined; you can choose the eventlog or an object table as the source.
- Automation attribute
- You can check the automation status of the activities. You can choose an Automated activity attribute from a dropdown and enter the Automated field truth-value separated by commas.
- Working time attribute
-
You can configure the working time for activities by selecting a custom attribute or custom metric that is available at the event level with Data type: Duration. This configuration allows you to dynamically set working time values based on your analysis needs.
For example, in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, you can create a custom metric called Development Working Time that calculates working time based on the
story_pointsattribute of work items. This metric can then be selected as the working time attribute, enabling dynamic, event-level working time calculation. For more information, see Development Working Time for SDLC processes. When you configure working time through the Attributes settings, the system automatically falls back to the cost settings if the working time value is NULL or 0 for a specific event. This ensures comprehensive cost coverage across all activities. For more information about working time configuration and the automatic fallback mechanism, see Activity working time.
- Excluded fields
- You can exclude any custom field that is not useful for your analysis.
