Focusing the investigation

You can use filter templates in Prescriptive Process Mining to limit the scope of investigation to a required subset of cases. Filter templates in IBM Process Mining are sets of filters which correspond to specific user requirements. To learn more about filters in IBM Process Mining, see Filters.

You must create filter templates in your process mining project before you add them to Prescriptive Process Mining for investigation. To learn how to create filter templates, see Managing filter templates.

By using filter templates to ignore unwanted activities and declutter the process data, Prescriptive Process Mining can focus the investigation on activities and other contextual data that are relevant to your business.

To add the filter templates to your investigation, complete the following steps:

1. In the Focus your insights section of the Investigative report page, click Apply filter template.
2. Select the required filter templates from the list. You can expand each filter template to see the list of filters included in it.
3. Click Apply.
4. Click Rebuild report to see your updated and focused report.
