Model views
You can change the view of your process model to display a more detailed view of a specific type of information.
You can choose the following model views:
- Frequency view
- Rework view
- Duration view
- Cost view
- Overall cost view
Each view presents the following information in each activity box:
- The activity description with the name of the activity and the roles by which the activity is carried out.
- The percentage of the colored circle on the lower right corner, which corresponds to the Model coverage.
Frequency view
The frequency view mode displays the process model based on frequency of a given activity.
The features of the activity boxes represent the following information:
-
The darker shade of the activity box emphasizes activities with more completions.
-
The completions are represented by the frequency number within the activity box and the Activity frequency legend. To access the Activity frequency legend, hover over the icon in the corner of the model, next to the zoom options.
Depending on the activity complexity that you set in the View options pane, the process view might hide or reveal activities.
If you set a low activity complexity in Frequency view, the process view hides the low-frequency activities and connects only the high-frequency activities. This can result in an empty or low value between the activities in a process model.
The features of the transition arrows represent the following information:
-
The bold arrows emphasize the most frequent transitions.
-
The frequency number on the arrows shows the number of process flows between two activities.
The transition arrows show the number of process flows between two connected activities that are currently displayed in the model and ignore all hidden activities.
Rework view
The rework view displays the performance view of the process based on the average number of times an activity is reworked during each case.
The features of the activity boxes represent the following information:
-
The darker shade of the activity box representes activities that were reworked more often.
-
The reworked activities are represented by the case rework number within the activity box and the Activity rework legend. To access the Activity rework legend, hover over the icon in the corner of the model, next to the zoom options.
-
The Automated instance ratio box with the gear icon shows the percentage of automation of the selected activity.
-
In brackets, the case rework number displays the number of times the activity is repeated for each case.
The bolded transition arrows emphasize the most frequent reworked activities.
Duration view
The duration view displays the process model based on the duration for the following categories:
- Average
- Median
- Minimum
- Maximum
- Weighted
When you select Duration, you can set KPI palette to On. Setting KPI palette to On activates the KPI analysis view based on the defined KPI settings. For more information on KPI settings, see KPI settings.
The features of the activity boxes represent the following information:
-
The darker shade of the activity box emphasizes activities with the longer service time, also called Activity Duration.
-
The service time is also represented by the Activity duration number within the activity box and the Activity duration legend. To access the Activity duration legend, hover over the icon in the corner of the model, next to the zoom options.
The transition arrows have the following features:
-
The bold arrows emphasize the transitions that have the longest wait time between activities.
-
The duration on the arrows reflects how long it takes to transition from one activity to another.
Cost view
The cost view displays the average cost of each activity based on predefined cost settings.
The features of the activity boxes represent the following information:
-
The darker shade of the activity box emphasizes activities with higher cost.
-
The activity cost is represented by the Activity cost number, which is a cost per activity case in the given currency. To access the Activity cost legend, hover over the icon in the lower-left corner of the model, next to the Zoom options.
Overall cost view
The overall cost view displays the overall cost of each activity based on predefined cost settings.
The features of the activity boxes represent the following information:
-
The darker shade of the activity box emphasizes activities with the higher overall cost.
-
The overall cost is represented by the Overall activity cost number within the activity box and the Activity cost (Overall) legend. To access the Activity cost (Overall) legend, hover over the icon in the corner of the model, next to the Zoom options.
-
The overall activity cost is calculated by the following cost model:
Total Activity Cost = Activity Standard cost + (AVG Working Time * Avg Resource or Role Cost)
